Shaving is an activity that separates the men from the boys. A good shave rejuvenates your face, making you look clean and fresh. An average man will shave 20,000 times during his life between age 15- 75. Some men like growing out their beard, but it has been suggested that a beard acts as a form of disguise or concealment. A bearded man is more likely to be stopped at airport security because he arouses suspicion of some kind of concealment.

Also, in general, women don’t like beards. An academic study in New Zealand in 2012 shows that women consider men with beards less attractive. At the same time, some men think a beard made them appear more dignified. So the question is, would you rather appear dignified or get the girl?
